This Week’s Highlights – April 17, 2017

  • Berries – Strawberry: Quality is good, with medium/large sizing.
  • Cucumbers – Expect better quality from the northern FL/GA areas than the south.
  • Melons – Good supplies this week on cantaloupe and honeydew with a good run of sizes. Quality on cantaloupes good to excellent and honeydew is more mixed.
  • Tomatoes – Roma & round: Round markets in the East are elevated slightly as the East moves from Immokalee to Palmetto/Ruskin. Quality remains good, western markets favor larger sizes. Roma: The market is elevated several dollars from short supplies in the East. Quality is fair to good. The western market follows suit.
  • Lettuce – Prices are high and supplies low, all markets extremely active overall.
