This Week’s Highlights – June 25, 2023

  • Red Grapes – Currently a buyers market on red grapes, while green grapes are drawing a premium. Quality is outstanding.
  • Grapefruit – Good supply and very good quality.
  • Romaine and Romaine Hearts – Supplies will vary, depending upon the shipper. Weights are light, but quality is good.
  • English Cucumber – Good supply available with excellent quality.
  • Cantaloupe – Production is peaking. The quality has been very good with nice shell color and strong internal quality. Brix levels have been mostly in the 14-16% range, with some peaking as high as 18%, and a good flavor profile.
  • Broccolini – Good supplies with very good quality.

This Week’s Highlights – February 3, 2023

  • Pineapple – Excellent quality peaking on 7 and 8 cts.
  • Grapefruit – Good supply and very good quality.
  • Romaine/Romaine Hearts – Overall, good quality and supply for the next few weeks.
  • Red and Yellow Bell Pepper – Excellent supply available and quality is good.
  • Avocados – The U.S. market has inventory in position for the upcoming Super Bowl!

This Week’s Highlights – November 1, 2021

  • Asparagus – Supply is increasing, quality is good, and the market is lower.
  • Red Leaf Lettuce – Good volume with good quality and the market is steady.
  • Romaine & Romaine Hearts – Production supply is beginning to trend lower. Plants that are healthy are exhibiting good color, texture, and quality overall.
  • Brussels Sprouts – Quality is good with minor defects, good shape and color.  Start to plan for Thanksgiving needs.
  • Kale (Green) – Bunched kale supple is expected to be plentiful for the next few weeks.

This Week’s Highlights – September 28, 2020

  • Red Bell Pepper – Market is steady and supply is good.
  • Iceberg Lettuce – Supply is poor due to drastic crop losses caused by two heat waves in the last month. Quality is poor and shelf life is not at its best. The market is extremely high.
  • Romaine & Romaine Hearts – Supply will remain tight. Reduced supply and elevated markets are expected.
  • Spring Mix – Better supply and quality is improving.
  • Arugula – Supply and quality are good.

This Week’s Highlights – September 14, 2020

  • Romain & Romaine Hearts – Both remain below normal budget volumes.
  • Cucumbers – FOB prices are up again this week, volumes are short.
  • Asparagus – Good volume and quality, market slight lower. Anticipate steady demand, with no substantial changes until December.
  • Red Cabbage – Supply is plentiful with great quality.
  • Peaches – Good supply and quality available out of California, New Jersey and Washington.
