  • Red and Yellow Bell Peppers – Good volume; Quality is outstanding.
  • French Green Beans – Good volume and light demand.  Quality is excellent.
  • Fennel – Good supply will continue for the next couple weeks. Quality and sizing are nice.
  • Kale (Green) – Bunched kale supply is expected to be plentiful for the next few weeks.
  • Tomatoes (Rounds & Romas) – Supply is steady. Quality is outstanding.  REMINDER: Do not refrigerate tomatoes. Refrigeration causes tomatoes to become mealy and loose flavor.

This Week’s Highlights – August 31, 2020

  • Lemons – Good quality and supply available.
  • Romaine & Romaine Hearts – Production supply remains below normal budget volumes. Expect reduced supply to continue with potential for reduced fill rates.
  • Cantaloupe – Higher pricing anticipated as we approach Labor Day weekend. Brix levels remain in the 12-14% range.
  • Cauliflower – Expecting excellent volume all week.
  • Kale – (green) Bunched kale supply is expected to be plentiful for the next few weeks.

  • Kale – Bunched kale supply is expected to be plentiful for the next few weeks. Quality is good.
  • English Cucumbers – Good volume and good quality.
  • Artichokes – Good volume for the balance of this month and prices are steady.
  • Cauliflower – Excellent volume all week. Quality is good.
  • Tomatoes – Roma – Demand appears to be shifting slightly to romas as buyers move away from high-priced rounds. Quality is excellent.  REMINDER: Do not store tomatoes in the refrigerator, refrigeration causes the tomatoes to become mealy and loose flavor.
