This Week’s Highlights – June 13, 2022

  • Grape & Cherry Tomatoes – Excellent supply and quality available.
  • Spring Mix – Supply and quality are good.
  • Rapini – Excellent supply this week and next.
  • Garlic & Ginger – Supply remains tight for the foreseeable future.
  • Celery – Price remains escalated; quality  is improving. Project volume to increase through the end of June.

This Week’s Highlights – Monday, March 21st

  • Cantaloupe – Strong volume and higher brix levels.
  • Romaine and Romaine Hearts – Demand is steady, due to quality issues you may notice lighter weights for a couple more weeks.
  • Broccoli/Broccoli Florets – Supply is good with very good quality.
  • Brussels Sprouts – Quality is very good; volume continues to be strong.
  • Garlic – Domestic supply is very tight. Expect volatility to continue through next summer.

This Week’s Highlights – March 1st, 2021

  • Bananas – Force Majeure…Hurricanes in South America have impacted both crops and infrastructure. Anticipate a tight supply and escalated pricing through Q1-2021.
  • Mini Sweet Pepper – Excellent supply and quality.
  • French Beans – Good volume, pricing is down. Quality is excellent.
  • Garlic – The domestic market remains high. Good quality.
  • Spinach – Supply and quality are good

This Week’s Highlights – January 27, 2020

  • Red Delicious Apples – good supply and quality is very nice across all varieties.
  • Lemons – good supply of all sizes; the quality is excellent and the fruit is beautiful.
  • Eggplant – availability is steady in all markets and supplies are readily available.
  • Broccoli/ Broccoli Florets – supply is steady; quality is good.
  • Garlic – EXTREME – domestic yields are down drastically, prices are increasing and quality is average. Chinese garlic is becoming very short in supply and it is expensive.

This Week’s Highlights – November 25, 2019

  • Cranberries – After the classic cranberry sauce is made to serve with your turkey, expand your use of the seasonal berry…puree 1/4 cup classic cranberries, then add 1/2 cup softened butter and a pinch of sea salt.  Spread on bagels, bread or scones.  Enjoy!
  • Navels/Valencias – These oranges are an excellent size, peaking on 72/56s.  High solids-to-acid ratio.
  • Asparagus – Volume is steady, quality is good.
  • Cabbage (green) – There is heavy supply this week. Quality is good.
  • Items on the Extreme List to be aware of: all berries, garlic, green beans, melons and potatoes. Keep an on your costs and quality of shipments.
