Red Grapes – Currently a buyers market on red grapes, while green grapes are drawing a premium. Quality is outstanding.
Grapefruit – Good supply and very good quality.
Romaine and Romaine Hearts – Supplies will vary, depending upon the shipper. Weights are light, but quality is good.
English Cucumber – Good supply available with excellent quality.
Cantaloupe – Production is peaking. The quality has been very good with nice shell color and strong internal quality. Brix levels have been mostly in the 14-16% range, with some peaking as high as 18%, and a good flavor profile.
Broccolini – Good supplies with very good quality.
Raspberries – Volumes will continue to increase steadily until early May. Overall fruit quality and size is very good.
Grapefruit – Good supply and very good quality out of Texas and California.
Iceberg Lettuce – Market has seen a significant increase in pricing. Rain and cool weather in northern California over the past 4 to 6 weeks has affected available supplies.
English Cucumbers – Good supply available with excellent quality.
Cantaloupe – Strong cantaloupe supply this week. Overall quality remains strong with brix levels at 13-16%.
Asparagus – Market is very active, especially on large and jumbo sizes. Expect higher markets for the next two to three weeks as growing regions ramp up.
Iceberg Lettuce, Romaine, Romaine Hearts, Green Leaf – Supplies continue to be lighter due to lower yields, viruses and impacts from excessive heat. The market is very active and the forecast is for higher prices to continue.
Spring Mix – Supply and quality are good.
Eggplant – Normal supply and good quality available.
English Cucumbers – Higher demand and very light supply has spiked the markets and will remain firm for the next several weeks.
Green Onions – Extremely light supply expected to continue well into the month of October.
