This Week’s Highlights – June 29, 2020

  • Citrusburst Finger Limes – a fun, yet tiny fruit that can be used as an interesting garnish on a baked good or cocktail, or even in a dressing to add a citrus element. Top a fruit salad with finger lime pulp, just be sure to leave out any other citrus because these will surely be the fresh pop that you need!
  • Pineapples – Quality is high and taste is wonderful.
  • Romain/Romain Hearts – Supply is becoming limited. Expect reduced supply for at least the next month. With the recent demand increase, we have seen market pricing advance dramatically.
  • Cantaloupe – ESCALATED – extreme conditions continue to wreak havoc on domestic melon supply.  Expect limit supply, quality issues and higher pricing.
  • Arugula – Supply and quality are good.

This Week’s Highlights – June 1, 2020

  • Cucumbers – Good supply and good quality.
  • Cantaloupe – Quality has begun to improve. June is forecasted to be a fairly consistent month as far as availability.
  • Asparagus – Supply is increasing.
  • Brussels Sprouts – Tight supply and fair to poor quality.
  • Spring Mix – Supply and quality are great.

This Week’s Highlights – October 14, 2019

  • Iceberg Lettuce – The market is very active, mainly due to light supply.
  • Green Leaf – Volumes are currently on budget. Market pricing is steadily advancing.
  • Red Bell Pepper – Prices continue to drop this week. Quality is good.
  • Eggplant – Good supply this week.
  • Cantaloupe – Production has dropped significantly over the past week.
  • Pears – Bartlett’s are in good supply. Bosc are limited. Fair supply of red pears. Asian pears have started.

This Week’s Highlights – August 19, 2019

  • Cantaloupe – Heat has caused more fruit to hit the market at once. Brix levels are mostly in the 12 – 15% range, with some attaining higher levels.
  • Butter Lettuce – Good volumes are available; demand is steady.
  • Green Peppers – Prices are down this week. Quality is fair, due to mix of old and new crops.
  • Eggplant – Readily available in Fresno and WA state and in several states in the East. Quality has been good on both sides of the country.
  • Brussels Sprouts – Supply is plentiful and quality is good.
