Raspberries – Volumes will continue to increase steadily until early May. Overall fruit quality and size is very good.
Grapefruit – Good supply and very good quality out of Texas and California.
Iceberg Lettuce – Market has seen a significant increase in pricing. Rain and cool weather in northern California over the past 4 to 6 weeks has affected available supplies.
English Cucumbers – Good supply available with excellent quality.
Cantaloupe – Strong cantaloupe supply this week. Overall quality remains strong with brix levels at 13-16%.
Asparagus – Market is very active, especially on large and jumbo sizes. Expect higher markets for the next two to three weeks as growing regions ramp up.
Broccoli – Quality is very good with good availability.
Lettuce (West Coast) – Yields are being affected by the INSV virus, causing some quality issues. Be on the watch for market volatility in the next few months.
Zucchini/Yellow Squash – Good supply available and quality is good from all production areas.
Cantaloupe – A quick turn-a-round in supply…overall quality is outstanding with excellent shell color and cutting beautifully. Brix is optimal.
Garlic – Domestic supply is very tight. Expect a volatile market to continue through the summer.
Eggplant – Supply is lighter this week out of Florida due to cooler weather. Excellent supply crossing through Nogales and quality is very nice.
Avocados – Market pricing continues to rise. Overall quality is outstanding.
Zucchini/Yellow Squash – Tighter supply this week due to cooler weather. Quality is outstanding on zucchini and fair on yellow squash.
Cantaloupe – A significant shift in sizing has been realized over the past week as jumbo fruit has all but disappeared. Good availability on 9/12/15’s. Quality continues to be very good. Average brix levels are now ranging from 11-14%.
Cauliflower – Supply is expected to be lighter than normal for the next two weeks.
Napa Cabbage – Volume is expected to be plentiful for the next two weeks.
Romaine & Romaine Hearts – Production supply remains below normal budget volumes. Expect reduced supply to continue with potential for reduced fill rates.
Cantaloupe – Higher pricing anticipated as we approach Labor Day weekend. Brix levels remain in the 12-14% range.
Cauliflower – Expecting excellent volume all week.
Kale – (green) Bunched kale supply is expected to be plentiful for the next few weeks.
