This Week’s Highlights – June 17, 2019

  • Watermelon – Quality is outstanding and promotions are available.
  • Pineapple – Trending toward smaller sizes. Quality is very good right now.
  • Eggplant – Quality is outstanding, volume is excellent.
  • Spinach – Supply and quality are good.
  • Cherries – Domestic cherries are available, but have suffered potential damage due to recent rain in the West.

This Week’s Highlights – June 3rd, 2019

  • Blueberries – Due to a gap in supply, pricing will go up for the next few weeks.
  • Green & Red Leaf Lettuce – Supply is good and quality is good to fair.
  • Brussels Sprouts – EXTREME – Very light availability. Extreme shortages in supply and the quality from Mexico is extremely challenging.
  • Celery – EXTREME – This is one of the longest runs of extreme pricing on celery this industry has ever experienced. Expect supply to improve weekly from this point.
  • Peaches – Domestic peaches are available out of South Carolina and central Georgia.

This Week’s Highlights – May 27, 2019

  • Vine Ripe Roma Tomatoes – Prices are down slightly for the week. Quality is outstanding.
  • Avocados – The market is very active; pricing is up again this week. Not anticipating a good market over the next several weeks.
  • Strawberries – EXTREME – Volumes will continue to drop over the next few weeks due to rain and wet fields.
  • Green Cabbage – Supply is good.
  • Red Cabbage – ESCALATED – Supply continues to be light.

This Week’s Highlights – May 13,2019

  • Red Bell Peppers – Prices are down this week…supplies are improving.
  • Cucumbers – Continue to drop in price. Quality is good to excellent.
  • Artichokes – Supply industry-wide is fair. Demand is fair and prices are steady to higher.
  • Broccoli/Broccoli Florets – ESCALATED. Supply is lighter this week.
  • Brussels Sprouts – EXTREME. Very light availability.

This Week’s Highlights – May 6, 2019

  • Pineapple – The quality is very good right now.
  • Cantaloupe – Decreasing supply from the off-shore market over the past two weeks have caused the market to spike. Quality has been outstanding. Brix averages have been increasing as we get closer to the Spring crop.
  • Romaine – Quality is good and the product is looking clean.
  • Red Bell Peppers – Prices are down this week as supply begins to improve.
  • Brussels Sprouts – Very light availability; shortages in supply.
